We use 5DX infrared spectrometer to perform difference spectrum analysis. We have reported the simultaneous determination of zirconium and hafnium, lanthanum and samarium, and now continue to report the results of the simultaneous determination of niobium and tantalum. Figures 1 and 2 are respectively the infrared absorption spectra of niobium, tantalum and 8-hydroxyquinoline complexes. It can be seen from the figure that both elements have strong absorption at 678.54cm-1 and 1477.9cm-1. These two wavelengths were selected to measure niobium and tantalum simultaneously. The measured absorption peak intensity was substituted into the following binary simultaneous equation to calculate the results.
