Abstract

Music holds a unique and vital place in the cultural and historical fabric of Uzbekistan. Among its diverse traditions, maqom and folk music stand out as two deeply intertwined and mutually enriching art forms. These genres not only reflect the rich musical heritage of the region but also embody the collective memory, values, and identity of the Uzbek people. The development of maqom and folk music over centuries illustrates the dynamic interplay between formal court music and the vibrant traditions of the common people.
