This paper examines the various government initiatives and policies implemented for the education of Children With Special Needs (CWSN) in Assam, India. The study employs a descriptive survey method utilizing both primary and secondary data sources to analyze the effectiveness of educational provisions and support services. Through an examination of central and state government schemes, including the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, District Primary Education Programme, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, this research evaluates the current scenario of special education in Assam. The findings reveal that while significant legislative and programmatic efforts have been made, challenges persist in terms of qualified professionals, curriculum flexibility, and societal attitudes. The paper concludes with recommendations for strengthening the inclusive education framework and improving service delivery for children with special needs.
