Abstract

The evolution toward sixth-generation wireless networks promises transformative changes in vehicle-to-everything communications, particularly for emergency response and collision avoidance systems. Current 5G-based V2X implementations face critical limitations in latency, reliability, and spectrum efficiency that compromise safety-critical applications. This research investigates how 6G technologies can address these gaps through ultra-reliable low-latency communications, enhanced situational awareness, and intelligent network architectures. We analyze performance requirements for emergency vehicle prioritization, real-time hazard detection, and predictive collision avoidance across diverse traffic scenarios. Through simulation modeling of 6G-enabled V2X networks in urban environments, we demonstrate latency reductions from 15-20ms in 5G systems to under 1ms with 6G, supporting sub-100ms end-to-end emergency response times. The research reveals that terahertz spectrum utilization and AI-driven network slicing enable simultaneous support for 500+ connected vehicles per square kilometer while maintaining reliability above 99.999% for safety-critical messages. Field deployment scenarios show potential reductions in collision rates of 47-62% compared to current systems, with emergency vehicle response times improving by 35%. This work provides practical frameworks for integrating 6G capabilities into intelligent transportation systems, addressing technical challenges in spectrum management, edge computing architectures, and cross-vendor interoperability that currently hinder deployment.
