When the Second World War ended in August 1945, Korea, a single nation, a unified country that had suffered 36 years of colonial rule, was divided into two parts. The division of North Korea was entirely artificially caused by external forces and went against the will of the North Korean people. Therefore, the North Korean issue was an international issue from the beginning. Since then, the Korean people have suffered from the division of their land and the division of their nation. The reunification of their land and the reunion of their nation have become the common long-cherished wish of all the Korean nation.
