Abstract

Tao Yuanming calls himself “a good reader, but doesn’t ask for a deep understanding”. He regards reading as a way of enlightenment. Reading is not only for the purpose of acquiring knowledge, but also for using his own life to "understand" the life experience of the ancients and other people's lives, and to enter a kind of life experience. In the realm of the true reality of the universe, we can obtain the "true meaning" of life and "have forgotten the words when trying to discern". This way of reading gets rid of the cumbersome annotations of the Classics of the Han Dynasty, and takes over the Taoist "Natural Theory" that was the banner of the "heresy" of the Han Dynasty. Forged into a new way of thinking. Tao Yuanming's way of reading is the product of the development and deepening of metaphysical thought in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
